Longhua Temple is the largest and oldest temple in Shanghai. It has a history of more than 1,700 years and its name comes from the scriptures of Maitreya Buddha in Longhua. Vegetarian meals are available at the temple and because they are particularly delicious, most visitors would join the queues for a bowl of noodles.
